Infant CPR classes are an important part of any parent’s education. The American Heart Association (AHA) recommends that all parents learn the basics of infant CPR in order to be prepared in the event of an emergency. HRTBT is a great place to take an infant CPR class, as our certified instructors provide quality instruction and support to ensure that the skills taught are retained and used correctly in the event of an emergency.
Infant CPR classes at HRTBT are designed to be both informative and interactive. The classes are typically held in a classroom setting, where students are able to ask questions and gain a better understanding of the materials being presented. Certified instructors provide information on proper infant CPR techniques, as well as information on what to do if CPR is not successful. Additionally, instructors demonstrate how to care for an infant in an emergency situation, and how to use an automated external defibrillator (AED).
At HRTBT, infant CPR classes contain the basic instruction on how to perform infant CPR and more detailed instruction on proper technique and use of an AED. Additionally, classes can also cover other topics such as how to recognize signs of choking and how to help an infant with a seizure.
The classes also provide an opportunity for students to practice their skills in a safe environment. Instructors will typically provide manikins for students to practice on, which allows for realistic simulations of what would happen in an emergency situation. Practicing on the manikins also helps to build confidence and familiarity with the techniques, so that the student is better prepared to act quickly in an emergency.
